Leadership and Teamwork
Leadership Positions and extracirriculars relevant to my growth through my career. My favorite experiences have been those that allow me to use my technical knowledge to serve and improve the lives of others, from the classroom to the construction site.

Plants4Kids
Plants4Kids is a STEM Education organization run by my PI's Dr.Stepanova and Dr.Alonso. The orginization focuses on providing plant and biology focused education to students in the Raleigh area. We regularly volunteer at the Muesuem of Life Sciences and host events on NCSU's campus for students to come and play interactive games to learn about the biological world. I have served as a volunteer to help administrate and supervise our STEM outreach efforts and work with young students as a team.

Mountains to Coast
Mountains to Coast is a week long service break trip dedicated to STEM outreach in underserved and underrepresented counties across the state of North Carolina. As a volunteer on this trip I worked at 3 different counties from the Mountains to the Coast in NC to conduct STEM focused activities to educate students about STEM careers and concepts they otherwise may have never had the opportunity to learn about. Having the opportunity to utilize my STEM knowledge to impact the next generation of potential scientists, engineers, and doctors is truly heart warming. All while developing my group public speaking skills with a team.

Program Ambassador
Within the Goodnight Scholarship Program, a selective STEM focused scholarship program at NCSU I serve as a leader in many different positions that impact underclassmen, my peers, and the program as a whole. As a program ambassador, I am in charge of GSP programming event creation and administration. This position allows me to develop my own skills such as administrational skills, event coordination and supervision, public-speaking, and large group management.

Peer Mentor
Empathy isn't just an important character trait to have for personal relationships, it is crucial in to have empathy in industry. Especially if you strive to become a leader in industry as I do. Empathy keeps teams flowing smoothly and eagerly towards their combined goal. It wins customers and partners over. Empathy contrary to popular belief needs exercise to blossom within an individual. As a regular peer mentor withing the Goodnight Scholars Program, I have the pleasure of personally mentoring incoming freshmen from a variety of backgrounds and stories. This experience has helped me develop my professional empathy to aid the next line of STEM students in their personal journeys, and lead them through challenges I have faced myself.
